Orientation

Congratulations! You have decided to take the next step on your path to success by continuing your education at Franklin, and we're here to guide you through your learning experience.

This checklist will help you begin your education at Franklin University.

Admission

  • Attend a briefing at your installation, if available
  • Meet with Army Continuing Education System (ACES) counselor to discuss educational goals
  • Complete and submit a Statement of Understanding (SOU) form
  • Review Franklin University Admission Requirements
  • Complete the Common Application for Admission on the GoArmyEd portal
  • Send a request for all transcripts (high school, college(s), GED)
  • Take placement test(s) in math, writing, reading and/or computer literacy, if necessary

Registration

  • Register for PF 321 Learning Strategies course through the GoArmyEd portal
  • If you have any questions about registration or prerequisites, please contact your Student Services Associate (SSA) at 1.877.341.6300 (toll free).

Financial Aid (if necessary)

  • Request a financial aid packet from your SSA
  • Complete financial aid forms
  • Contact a Financial Services Associate at Franklin for an estimate
  • Obtain scholarship application(s) from your SSA

Tips for Success

  • Be sure to request transcripts from all institutions you have attended. This ensures a complete and accurate Student
  • Agreement, as well as will prevent a hold status on your GoArmyEd account.
  • Students are responsible for registering and dropping courses through the GoArmyEd portal. Students are not automatically withdrawn from a course due to nonattendance! Please refer to the drop policy outlined in the GoArmyEd
  • Integrated Course Schedule.
  • Check the GoArmyEd Portalgoarmyed.franklin.edu and myFranklin for important information throughout the term.
  • Check with a Financial Services Associate (FSA) prior to dropping any classes as it may affect your eligibility for assistance.
  • Financial Aid is an annual process. Submit applications by the published deadline and follow the detailed instructions.
  • Study and writing assistance is available FREE of charge through Franklin's Student Learning Center (SLC).
  • For each Balanced Learning Format (BLF) course taken, expect to invest 8-12 hours per week of study time outside of class for undergraduate and 12-16 hours per week of study time outside of class for graduate.
  • Time management will be a crucial part of your success as a student. Budget your time wisely!
