A. Franklin University’s Main Campus is located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, supporting several other central Ohio locations. Courses are offered at our central Ohio locations, online through our Virtual Campus, and through numerous community and technical colleges across the United States via our Community College Alliance Program.


Q. Can I transfer credits to Franklin from another school?

A. Yes! Nearly 90% of Franklin students transfer credits from other colleges and universities. Because of this, Franklin saves you time and money with a transfer credit acceptance policy that beats most other institutions. Since your previous college credits will never expire, Franklin maximizes your transfer credit.

Q. I have many years of relevant work experience. Can I receive college credit for what I’ve already accomplished?
A. We value your previous work experience. That’s why we offer you college credit for your work and life experience. Through proficiency exams and prior-learning portfolio credit for your experience, you may be closer to earning your degree than you think!

Q. My time is precious; how can I fit school into my schedule?

A. We understand that your role as a student is just one part of your life. Our Balanced Learning Format and manageable time commitment allow you to earn your degree without putting your life on hold. You can learn on campus just one night a week or online on your own time. Q. How large are classes at Franklin University?
A. Class sizes average 18 students per classroom, allowing you to meet a broad range of people while maintaining the personal attention you deserve. You’ll experience valuable networking opportunities with your instructors and classmates as you support one another in a collaborative online learning environment.

Q. Is Franklin University on a quarter or semester system?
A. Franklin University offers three terms each year called Trimesters. Trimesters begin in August/September, January and April/May. With course lengths of 6-, 7-, 12- and 15-weeks, you don’t have to wait long to start earning your degree.

Q. Is tutoring available?
A. Franklin University's Student Learning Center (SLC) provides services and resources designed to empower you to become an independent lifelong learner. We help thousands of students each trimester with a variety of on-campus and online programs and services to support student learning through tutoring, workshops and writing support.
Every Franklin student, whether taking classes on campus or online, is encouraged to explore the opportunities provided by the SLC.

Q. What kind of testing does Franklin use?
A. Franklin University primarily utilizes group-based and individual writing assignments to determine course outcomes and grades. However, some accounting, computer science, marketing and mathematics courses administer proctored exams. These exams are typically timed and paper based.
Tests may be proctored at your Education Center, local library or college, or with your Commanding Officer. Please arrange your test proctor with your professor at the beginning of the course so they may complete the proper paperwork and forward the appropriate exam to your proctor.

Q. Who can advise me on my course schedule?
A. After you choose a Major and once your Common Application is received, you will be assigned to a Student Services Associate (SSA) who will help map your path to graduation. Your SSA will assist you with everything from transfer credit evaluation questions and placement tests (if needed) to course planning and scheduling — in addition to answering all your administrative questions during the process.

Q. Can I receive any financial aid?
A. More than 75% of Franklin University students receive some type of financial assistance from scholarships, loans, grants and tuition reimbursement. Flexible payment plans and deferment programs also can help lighten the financial load of your educational investment.
Your Financial Services Associate can help determine what financial assistance and payment methods can work for you.

Q. How many classes does it take to be considered a full-time student?
A. Most Franklin University courses carry four credit hours, unless otherwise indicated. To be considered a full-time undergraduate student, you must carry 12 or more credit hours per Trimester. All Vantage MBA® Program students are considered full time.
