New Student Experience — Learning Strategies
As a new Franklin GoArmyEd student, you will complete Learning Strategies (PF 321), a two-credit, six-week course to help you prepare for online learning at Franklin. This foundational prerequisite prepares you to be a successful lifelong learner, both academically and professionally.
You’ll use various technologies, including the Internet, email, chat rooms, online bulletin boards, course Web sites and Franklin’s virtual library to complete assignments and activities in the course, which is designed to closely simulate teamwork found in the workplace.
Student Services Associates
With Franklin University’s student-centered approach, each student is matched with a Student Services Associate (SSA) who serves as your academic advisor. The SSA serves as a contact for the student from admission all the way through graduation. Your SSA will help you:
• Clarify your education and career goals;
• Prepare your chronological degree plan;
• Review your academic progress;
• Perform degree audits;
• Schedule your classes; and
• Connect with other University departments.
Franklin’s distinguished faculty consists of both full-time faculty members who combine advanced degrees with real-world experience, and full-time executives and professionals who teach part time as adjunct professors. You’ll learn from accessible professionals who practice what they teach, have a wealth of experience, and demonstrate a true commitment to facilitating lifelong learning.

Testing Information
Franklin University primarily utilizes group-based assignments to determine course outcomes and grades. However, some accounting, computer science, marketing and mathematics courses administer proctored exams. These exams are typically timed and paper-based.
Tests may be proctored at your Education Center, local library or college, or with your Commanding Officer. Please arrange your test proctor with your professor at the beginning of the course so they may complete the proper paperwork and forward the appropriate exam to your proctor.
Disability Services
Franklin University recognizes the needs of students with disabilities and is committed to providing accessible services, programs and educational opportunities. In addition to accessible facilities and plentiful parking for you, the Office of Disability Services is available to provide disabled individuals with additional assistance and guidance.
